How To Play

Step 1: Setup an account for free
All we need is an e-mail address and a password.

Step 2: Invite your friends to do the same
You can send invitations to your friends’ e-mail addresses during sign up and have them play along.

Step 3: Create a public or private group
Creating a group is super easy, just click on "create group." Give your group a name and select the number of players. Then add your friends’ e-mail addresses to invite them to join. Last, whether you want the group to be public or private. If this is a private group, add a password.

Select the length of game; 1 week, 1 month or 3 months. If you are just starting out we recommend a 1-week game to get your feet wet.

Step 4: Start bidding on Hollywood talent
Each week on Sunday at 7:00pm auctions will begin for the week. Talent will be auctioned off at 7:00pm Sunday. You and your friends start bidding on talent. Everyone will have a set budget to use to buy talent.

Step 5: Make Movies!
Once you have your talent and are happy with your selections you can create your fake movie. Give it a title, brief synopsis and assign roles to your actors and actresses. Finally give it a rating and add some tags.

Movies must be created by 9:00pm on Thursday to be entered into play for the week. After your movie is created, other players in your group will be able to vote "see it" or "skip it" as to whether they would go see your movie in the theaters. Players can also leave comments about your movie.

Step 6: Watch your box-office numbers roll in.
When the U.S. box office returns are posted on Sunday afternoon your movie will receive its fantasy box-office number.

Who Wins?

There are three different scores.

1. The best "see it/skip ratio" — basically whether or not people like your idea and the talent you have put together.
2. Overall gross, which is total box office number.
3. Net, which is the gross minus the cost of all your talent.

We will hold contests periodically, in which we pick winners from 1, 2, or all 3 categories.

Scoring

Two of the three ways to score in Hollywood Rollers involve your fake movie making money based on movies in theaters. Both are based on the same principal. All of your talent earns a percentage of the box office numbers for the movie they are in that week.

* Producers get 40% of their movie’s box office
* Directors get 15%
* Lead Roles get 30%
* Supporting Roles get 15%
